KLOW Peptide Blend: GHK-Cu, BPC-157, TB-500, KPV Research Guide

Updated 4 min read

On this pageWhat Is KLOW?

Short answer: KLOW is a multi-component research peptide blend that combines 4 peptides in one vial: GHK-Cu + BPC-157 + TB-500 + KPV. NuRev supplies it as a 80 mg lyophilized blend for laboratory research, where it is used to study several peptide classes side by side under the same conditions.

This page covers what each component is, its identity data, how blends are characterized, how KLOW compares with GLOW, and storage. Order: KLOW 80 mg. For laboratory research use only.

What Is KLOW?

KLOW is not a single compound. It is a pre-mixed blend of 4 research peptides (GHK-Cu, BPC-157, TB-500, KPV) supplied together in one sealed vial, 80 mg in total. The name is a catalog name rather than a chemical one, so the identity of a KLOW lot is defined by its components, each of which should be identified and measured on the Certificate of Analysis.

Researchers use blends to work with several peptide classes under identical conditions, for example the same vial, solvent, storage history and lot, when comparing or combining their effects in an assay.

What Each Component Is Used to Study

GHK-Cu

GHK is a naturally occurring tripeptide (Gly-His-Lys) with high affinity for copper(II). The copper complex, GHK-Cu, is used in cell-culture research on extracellular-matrix gene expression, copper transport and antioxidant enzyme activity.

BPC-157

BPC-157 is a synthetic pentadecapeptide whose sequence is taken from a protein found in gastric juice. It is studied in preclinical models of angiogenesis-related signaling, nitric oxide pathways and growth-factor receptor expression. See our BPC-157 literature review.

TB-500 (thymosin beta-4)

Thymosin beta-4 is the main G-actin-sequestering peptide in many cell types. By binding monomeric actin it regulates actin polymerization, and it is used in research on cytoskeletal dynamics and cell migration in vitro.

KPV

KPV is the C-terminal tripeptide (Lys-Pro-Val) of alpha-melanocyte-stimulating hormone. It is studied in cell models of inflammatory signaling, including NF-κB pathway activity, and in research on peptide transport by the PepT1 transporter.

KLOW vs GLOW: What Is the Difference?

GLOW and KLOW share the same three-peptide core. KLOW adds a fourth component, KPV:

BlendComponentsPeptidesVial total
GLOWGHK-Cu, BPC-157, TB-500370 mg
KLOWGHK-Cu, BPC-157, TB-500, KPV480 mg

Choose by the components your study needs. See the GLOW guide for the other blend.

How Peptide Blends Are Characterized

A blend needs more testing than a single peptide, because every component should be identified and measured, not only the largest one:

  • Identity: mass spectrometry confirming each expected component mass
  • Purity and composition: HPLC separating the components, with each peak assigned
  • Amounts: the measured quantity of each component compared with its label claim
  • Traceability: one lot number on the vial and the COA

NuRev lots are tested by independent third-party laboratories. A useful Certificate of Analysis for a research peptide shows:

  • Identity by mass spectrometry, matched to the expected molecular weight
  • Purity by HPLC, with the chromatogram
  • A lot number identical to the vial label, the test date and the laboratory

Posted lots are in the COA library; others are available on request. See also HPLC testing and how to read a peptide COA.

Storage and Handling of KLOW

Store and handle the blend as you would its most sensitive component. General practice for lyophilized peptides applies:

  • Store the sealed vial at −20 °C, protected from light and moisture. Short-term storage at 2–8 °C is acceptable.
  • Let the vial reach room temperature before opening to limit condensation.
  • Dissolve in a solvent suited to the assay, mix gently rather than vortexing hard, and divide solutions into single-use aliquots.
  • Avoid repeated freezing and thawing, and record the lot number for every experiment so results trace to the Certificate of Analysis.

More detail is in peptide storage best practices and reconstitution guidance.
